Great B&W Photographers PART 2

John Gutmann was born May 28, in 1905 in Germany. He studied at the Academy of Arts and Crafts under the known painter Otto Mueller. He worked as an artist and an art teacher until he fled from the Nazis early 1933. He moved to San Francisco and started working as a photographer. Gutmann's work was displayed in galleries, exhibits, catalogues, and monographs before he died on June 2, 1998.
