Fashion
1) Changes made to the model pre picture or during the picture were the makeup that was given to her and the fan blowing in her face. After the photo was taken they also edited her neck, eyes, and hair. Her neck was elongated and made to look more curved, her eyes were made bigger, and her hair color was changed to make it look more dramatic.
2) The model's appearance was completely changed.
2) The model's appearance was completely changed.
- Most of her hair is merely editing
- They shaped her nose to be triangular
- They made her eyes bigger and they colored her eyes more blue
- They made her stomach skinnier with longer legs
- They made her feet smaller and extended her neck
- They made her skin color lighter
3) They made the model skinnier and they made her have clearer skin. They also made her face look completely different. Really impressive photoshop - I can't believe they turned a piece of pizza into this photo.
4) I think it is okay to change people's appearances like this UNLESS you are trying to advertise something. When you try to sell something with an edited photo, you're not being honest. You're lying to the customer and you're lying about what results your product gets.
5) These manipulations would be acceptable for a wedding or a birthday party. Editing photos is okay if only a few people are going to see the photos or keep them as memories. In a setting such as advertising or commercial ITS NOT OKAY to manipulate these photos so drastically.
6) Minor changes such as smoothing of the skin or changing certain colors are okay, but when you start to change the shape of things it starts becoming very unethical.
7) Fashion Photography and Photojournalism are very different because Fashion Photography is specifically about making people and clothing look good, which may use more editing. Whereas Photojournalism covers a wide range of subjects.
8) Photography is used to capture real life in a moment, and I think distorting images by editing them is essentially distorting real life, which is extremely unethical and rude.
9) I think you showed us these videos to help us understand the extreme lengths that people change photos, and how it can be a bad thing.
10) Females are very over sexualized and wanted in the media; more-so than males. They also have a very high standard of beauty in the advertisement/fashion world. To get models to resemble this bizarre and unnatural idea of beauty they have to do all this editing.
